STRIDE Learn to Run
STRIDE is a six stage, learn to run system targeted towards Registered Fitness Professionals (encompassing Gym Instructors, Personal Trainers and Group Exercise Instructors) along with children, adults and trainers for any sport or activity that involves running. STRIDE is a structured system to help improve running form and technique so people can participate and enjoy any activity that involves running. The program will also provide tools and techniques to assist build strength to assist with injury prevention. The course was written and developed by Peter Annis-Brown, a running technique specialist and accredited athletics coach with a lifetime involvement in sport and exercise. STRIDE stands for Speed, Timing, Right angle, Ideal posture, Direction and Exercise everything.
– Understand the fundamentals of correct running technique and introduce a structured progression of each exercise safely.
– Have a good understanding of the different methods/ techniques to improve both speed and efficient movement.
– Review common technique problems with running and be able to trouble shoot or correct them when required.
– Be able to determine when a participant has a running style that could lead to potential injuries.
The course has a 5 week program built in that you can work through as part of learning and developing your STRIDE. For Sport Managers
This is an introductory online course that is designed to give you wide context to the subject matter rather than equip you with every conceivable skill. You will gain skills and obtain the knowledge in communication required by sports managers.
Each module stage contains a range of materials that are written, interactive and include video and online links as well as a selection of practical readings to help you.
A Sport Approach to Resilience
Sport replicates life and to succeed in any environment or in overcoming change and uncertainty, people need resilience skills now more than ever. Resilience is a skill set that we can work on throughout our lives.

1st Aid Courses
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. First aid is given until appropriate professional treatment is received or until the crisis resolves.
The course is based on the international MHFA Guidelines. These guidelines were developed using consensus of mental health consumers, carers and professionals from english-speaking developed countries.
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective. The course consists of a combination of theory and practical scenarios and can be delivered 12 hours face to face or via a blended course of online self paced and then a 4 hour face to face workshop.
Participants who complete this training are eligible to complete an online Accreditation Assessment in order to receive a Mental Health First Aider Certificate of Accreditation valid for 3 years.
Our next face to face course will be held in Tamworth on Saturday and Sunday 23/24th February 2019. This is an accredited course for registered Fitness professionals where participants can attain a 3-year accredited Mental Health First Aid Certificate and gain 10 CEC’s with Fitness Australia.
